Reality TV Lessons

As someone who grew up watching this franchise, it’s amazing to realise that in less than a year I’ve worked on 4 x The Real Housewives franchises.

🇳🇬 The Real Housewives of Lagos

🇿🇦 The Real Housewives of Durban

🇳🇬 The Real Housewives of Abuja

🇰🇪 The Real Housewives of Nairobi

Four versions, three countries, thousands of engagements later, it teaches you a lot. Sharing some learnings that work well across any campaign or brand.

🌟 Don’t underestimate the value of being fully immersed. Whether you’re a long time fan or new to the franchise, knowing the ins and outs of the show, the cast and what makes it all come together will help you incredibly.

💬 Localisation is key. Gone are the days where we communicate in one tone and voice, it’s important to speak to people as they want to be spoken.

👑 Content is key in social media. How you present what you do says a lot. There’s always more thought than you’d realise behind the reason for a vertical video, gif or meme. Engagement is a large measurement of success, but you need to understand how to craft quality creative to achieve that.

I could talk about this for ages, but I’ll just keep posting more frequently to share along the way 😃

👩🏽‍💻 Make sure to watch #RHOLagos, #RHODurban, #RHOAbuja and #RHONairobi all on Showmax.
